Privacy Policy

PhotoSync helps you back up the photos and videos on your phone to your own computer, or to your own cloud storage account. We take your privacy seriously, and the app is built on one principle: your data moves only between your own devices and your own accounts — never through us.

We do not collect any personal information

PhotoSync does not collect or store your photos or personal information. We have no servers that hold your data, and we do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

The one exception is the subscription feature — see "Subscriptions and payment" below. It concerns subscription status only, never your photos.

How your photos are transferred

Backup to your computer: photos and videos are transferred only between your phone and your own computer, directly over the local network on the same Wi-Fi. This data never passes through any server.

Browser transfer: your phone temporarily runs a web service on your local network so you can open it from a computer on the same network. It requires a pairing code, runs only while you have it switched on, and stops when you quit the app. The data still moves only between your two devices.

Cloud backup (optional)

If you choose to connect Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive, your photos are uploaded directly from your phone to your own cloud account. They do not pass through our servers, and we neither relay nor retain them.

• It is optional: every other feature works without connecting any cloud account.
• Sign-in: authorization happens on each provider's official OAuth page. We never see or handle your password.
• Least-privilege scopes: we request only what is needed to write into the folder this app creates (drive.file for Google Drive, Files.ReadWrite.AppFolder for OneDrive, an app folder for Dropbox). We cannot read anything else in your cloud storage.
• Tokens stay on your phone: authorization tokens are kept in the device's secure storage (iOS Keychain) and are never uploaded. You can tap "Disconnect" in the app at any time, or revoke access from the provider's account settings.
• Disconnecting does not delete uploaded photos: those files live in your own cloud account and remain yours to manage.
• Once your photos reach a cloud provider, that provider's privacy policy also applies to them.

Subscriptions and payment

Cloud backup is a paid feature after the trial period. Payment is handled entirely by the Apple App Store; we never see your payment details.

To determine whether a subscription is active we use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. It receives:

• an anonymous identifier it generates itself (no name, email or Apple ID)
• the App Store purchase receipt and subscription status
• basic device and app information (OS version, app version, country/region)

RevenueCat never receives your photos, your library contents, or your cloud accounts — it only answers the question "is this subscription active right now?". See their privacy policy.

To cancel, go to Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

Permissions the app uses

• Photo library access: used only to read the photos and videos you choose to back up, and — when you upload via Browser transfer — to write files into the album you pick.
• Local network: used only to discover your computer on the LAN and transfer files to it.
• Internet access: used only when you enable cloud backup, to reach the official API of the provider you connected.

Data storage

Files backed up to your computer are saved to a folder you choose; files backed up to the cloud are saved in your own cloud account. Both remain fully under your control, and the developer cannot access them.

Children's privacy

This app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date.
